Chris Wood was named the Premier League Player of the Month for October 2024, as the league's top scorer for the month with four goals in his three appearances. He became the first Nottingham Forest player and first New Zealander to win the award. On 7 December 2024, he became Forest's top leading goalscorer in the Premier League, bypassing Bryan Roy, as he netted the winner in a 3–2 away victory over Manchester United. The goal was Wood's 25th for the club, and secured Forest's first win at Old Trafford since a 2–1 triumph on 17 December 1994.
In January 2025, Wood signed a new deal with the club, extending his contract to 2027. On 1 February, he netted a hat-trick, the third goal of which was a penalty, in a 7–0 victory over Brighton, becoming the first Nottingham Forest player to achieve this feat at the City Ground in the top flight since Nigel Clough in December 1987.
