Ipswich spent most of the 2024–25 season in the bottom half of the league and in the relegation zone. On 26 April 2025, following a 3–0 defeat away to Newcastle United, the club was relegated back to the Championship.
They returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking after winning their final league game of the 2025–26 season against QPR.
Following promotion back to the Premier League, it was announced on 10 June 2026 Kieran McKenna would step down as manager and football management as a whole to focus his time with his family.
Lorenzo D'Anna remained as coach of the club for the 2018–19 season after replacing Rolando Maran during the 2017–18 season. On 13 September, Chievo were deducted 3 points after being found guilty of false accounting on exchanging players with Cesena. President Luca Campedelli was banned for three months as a result of the scheme. Chievo were officially relegated on 14 April 2019 after a 3–1 home loss to Napoli.
