On 23 September 2022, Saka was named England Men's Player of the Year for the 2021–22 season ahead of Declan Rice and Harry Kane, becoming the first Arsenal player to win the honour. Saka was named in England's 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He scored twice in a 6–2 victory over Iran in England's opening match at the tournament and once in England's 3–0 defeat of Senegal in the round of 16.
On 10 December, Saka started in England's 2–1 quarter-final defeat to France, and was named the team's man of the match by BBC Sport and L'Équipe. On 19 June 2023, he scored his first career hat-trick in a 7–0 home win over North Macedonia in Euro 2024 qualifying.
