On 10 August 2018, Shaw scored his first senior goal in the league opener against Leicester City as Manchester United won 2–1. Shaw also won the season's first player of the month award in August and again in September. He signed a new 5-year deal with United on 18 October 2018. 

On 2 April, Shaw was announced as United's player of the month for March – achieving three in total this season. At the end of the season, Shaw was voted Manchester United Players' Player of the Year and Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year.
