Under coach Andreas Alm, AIK established itself as a top club, finishing second, fourth, second, third and third again during the seasons 2011–2015.
The team were champions in 1992, and again in a reformed league system in 1993. They won the Swedish Cup in 1996, and reached the third round of the European Cup Winners' Cup the following season.
