During the group stages of UEFA Euro 2016, UEFA imposed a suspended disqualification on Russia for crowd trouble during a group match against England. Russia were knocked out of the competition in their final group match which was against Wales (a 3–0 defeat); prior to this they had only collected a single point from a 1–1 draw against England which was followed by a 2–1 loss to Slovakia.
